As our final group project in case studies we had to find a company that had encountered a crisis and either handled it very well or not well at all and analyze their decisions. We chose Carnival Cuise Lines after the sinking of the Costa Concordia.

This project involved a lot of research and analyzing the company's crisis management decisions. We then offered our suggestions as to what should have been done, done better, or not done at all.

In our analysis "Carnival Cruise Lines: Hip Ship to Loser Cruiser in a Matter of Minutes" we discuss Micky Arison, Carnival's CEO, absence during the crisis, we cover how Carnival lacked prompt and efficient communication in the days and weeks following the accident. We analyzed their statements, responses, press conferences, social media and overall handling of the situation after the Costa Concordia ran aground off the coast of the Italian island of Giglio in January 2012.
